The first single of 2022 from Polly Money is ‘Street Side’, a guitar-driven pop tune that takes influence from atmospheric dream-pop as much as modern R&B legends like Frank Ocean. Simplistic clean guitars form the accompaniment for the introduction, allowing her swooning vocal to take centre stage before bursting outward into acrobatic melodies supported by deep synths and strings in the chorus. She explains that the track “speaks to the struggles of loving someone who will never return your affection.
